Pros
Cons
  • Cruelty Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Deep End Eyeshadow is Vegan
  • Eyeshadows can be used wet or dry for a versatile intense look.
  • Palette can be used a keepsake box once finished with the eyeshadows.
  • The shadows are pigmented and smooth with great amount of color payoff.
  • The wear time is around 7-8 hours before creasing on the eyelid. For an extended playtime, primer is definitely recommended.
  • The eyeshadows are very blendable and easy to layer on top of.
  • We feel this palette could have used a matte shade to bring the look together.
  • Even though this palette is described as on the go friendly, the detachable lid pops right off. This makes traveling with this palette a bit difficult. In the future, we would like to see something similar to the naked palettes for more security.
  • Prank when swatched came out a bit patchy but it can be buildable.
  • There is a bit of fall out but that can be expected from Urban Decay. This con comes down to personal preference. These colors are stunning and pigmented that the fall out can be overlooked.
  • The palette cover can get a bit "fingerprinty" but then again that comes with usage over time and can be chalked to personal preference.

Overall Thoughts:

The Sephora Limited Edition Urban Decay Spectrum Palette is a gorgeous array of greens, blues, purples, pinks, and neutrals. This palette originally was released back on September 12, 2015 for VIB and VIB Rouge Sephora members. Within a day, this palette was sold out online and soon turned into the majestic white unicorn that only came out on leap year. After praying to the gods, Urban Decay and Sephora decided to listen to our pleas and released it for a second time. This palette is still available online and in occasional stores. So if you love great splashes of color that could be incorporated into a versatile of looks at an affordable price, then this palette is a must. You technically are saving around $245 with this palette. The color pay off is great and the wear time is fantastic. The eyeshadows have a great smooth texture that is easy to layer and blend. Yes, there is some fallout but that is clearly easy to deal with. Do we think this palette is for a on the go/travel must? Hell to the no! With the detachable top, a mess is definitely a brewing. I can just picture it now opening up my purse or makeup bag and thinking that a pixie must have died from the explosion of shimmer and glitter. If you do decide to be brave and pick the path less traveled, please make sure to secure the top with a rubber band and may the odds be in your favor. Another reason, we felt this palette was a big no no for traveling is that there is no matte shades. Although this is not a issue for when applying your makeup at home because if you are like us then you are a hoarder and have a multitude of palettes that you can interchange colors with but traveling would require you to bring another palette adding more crap to your already overloading suitcase. Again, this all boils down to personal preference. We were able to look past these cons and embrace the majestic unicorn in all its glory.
