Overall Thoughts:

The Milani Cosmetics' Color Statement Lipstick in #48 - Tuscan Toast is a gorgeous color that upon initial purchase I thought would be too dark for me to pull off but I love that I was proven wrong yet once again by Milani. The creaminess of the formula allows for a smooth application with excellent pigmentation and a yummy vanilla cookie smell. There was no feathering, no crumbling, no tackiness, and doesn't cling to dry patches or lip lines. Tuscan Toast is buildable and blendable. It lasted about 5.5 hours before fading from the center into my natural lip color. I did not experience any issues with reapplication. There was a slight stain upon removal but that is to be expected with darker shades of lipsticks. I can't wait to wear this color during the fall/winter season even though I will probably wear it a lot sooner so don't rat me out to the ghost of Joan Rivers.

Overall Thoughts:

Happy Winesday! The Milani Cosmetics Color Statement Lipstick in 21 - Sangria is and forever shall be my wine partner in crime. After I had a small little break from Milani Cosmetics last week, I am back embracing this little gem and reigniting my love for the brand. During the Halloween season, I may or may not have gone a bit crazy (depends on your definition of crazy) and purchased a crap ton of darker lipstick shades that were definitely out of my nude comfort zone. I do not regret my decision one bit. Over the weekend, I attended a wine tasting. I decided to pair this glorious deep wine red color with a top knot and a killer winged eyeliner. This color applied smoothly and was moisturizing. Although upon initial application, it was a wee bit patchy but eventually it set evenly after a few layers. Sangria's finish can be described as a glossy, semi-matte. It did not settle into my lip lines nor did it cling onto any dry patches on my lip. Sangria is very lightweight and lasted for about 7 hours long. Maybe wine could be attributed to its longlasting powers but I highly doubt it. This shade was true to the color swatch and selection on the bottom of the tube. My only complaint is that it can make teeth appear slightly yellow. Yes, there is staining and transfer and smudging oh my but come on now have we not turn a blind eye to these things before? I know I have. I don't know about you but in my experience it is getting harder and harder to find certain Milani products at my local drugstores. I feel like they have been coming out with new stuff and just completely doing away with some permanent items. I really hope this changes soon cause I love 99.9995% of the whole collection and have been slowly trying to complete my collection.

Overall Thoughts:

It is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform you that the day I never thought would happen is here.  The reckoning is upon us. Milani Cosmetics has finally let me down. As you are reading this, I may or may not be trying to hold back my tears. My beloved go-to drug store cosmetic's line why do you do this to me? WHYYYY?!? So now that my dramatic tantrum is over lets get to the nitty gritty. In the Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick line, there are currently 16 shades available. I have tried out most of them and they have all been amazingly moisturizing for a matte lipstick. Matte Flirty was the exception for me. Before applying all lipsticks and lip glosses, I like to exfoliate my lips with a lip scrub and apply a lip balm. I do this before trying and reviewing any brand. As I was applying it, I noticed a certain tugging on the lips and chalk it up to first time use. I decided to rub it a bit on my arm to warm it up. This did nothing. Once I finally managed to get it on my lips, I noticed it being patchy in certain areas. I have come to notice patchiness in darker color shades from most brands. So I did what I normally do, I tried to build up the product by applying several layers. This was a nightmare. The color started to build up in my lip lines. As Matte Flirty dried down, it would cling to dry patches giving a color distortion on my lips. This was a pain in the butt when I tried to remove it because not only did it stain my lips but was still noticeable in my lip lines. I had to use a heavy face scrub to finally get it off. I really wanted to love this color because it is simply beautiful and for a deep red it doesn't make the teeth appear yellow which can be hard to find. I did not experience any feathering, tackiness, or crumbling. I also enjoyed the slight vanilla smell. Even though this shade wasn't as moisturizing as the rest of the line, it still was long lasting and did not fade till about after 6 hours.

Milani Cosmetics - Color Statement Lipliner - 03 Nude (Vegan)

Milani Cosmetics:  Color Statement Lipliner in 03 - Nude (Vegan)

Description: (Taken from the Milani Cosmetics Website)

"Just like its namesake lipstick, Color Statement Lipliner packs a bold punch and was built to go the distance. Precise but never draggy, its creamy finish lets you comfortably fill-in all over, or simply trace your lips to prevent feathering. Like to customize your look and make it your own? Layer it under a contrasting shade of lipstick or gloss. And when it wears down, get right back to the point with your Milani Duo sharpener."

Net Weight: 0.04 oz / 1.14 g

Made in: Czech Republic / Distributed in: Los Angeles, CA

Price: $4.49 - To Purchase Online Click Here

Purchased at: CVS Pharmacy Store for $4.29

Packaging:

The color statement liner is a recycled-colored wooden pencil that matches the color of the shade. The company's information and the shade's information are etched into the pencil in a metallic gold. There is a golden metallic top protecting the tip of the liner. Prior to use, you'll find a plastic security wrap to it that needs to be removed.

Includes: One eyeliner pencil

Application: (Taken from Milani Cosmetics Website)

"To outline your lips, make an X on the center of your upper lip (lip cleavage). Following the contour of your mouth, start from the outer edges of your lips and work your way towards center of your upper lip (where the x is marked). This will prevent from making one arch higher, pointier or rounder than the other.  Tip:   Lipliner helps extend the wear & keeps your lipstick from feathering.   When choosing a lipliner shade, match the lipliner to your lipstick shade or match your lipliner to the shade of your lips which will work with all your lipstick shades.   Create a custom lipcolor by using a contrasting lipliner and lipstick shade.   Before applying your lipliner, pat your lips lightly with your foundation or pressed powder puff, which also helps keep you lipstick from feathering."

Formula: (Taken from Milani Cosmetics Website)

  • Great pigmentation
  • True to color description
  • Affordable

  • Easy to use for overdrawing your lips
  • Easy to remove
  • Long-wearing: Lasted about 6.5 hours which included eating and drinking
  • Fades into your natural lip color
  • Multipurpose: Used as eyeliner in the lower lash and waterline
  • Great for travel
  • Milani Cosmetics does offer an exchange if purchased product through their website
  • Smells like a Crayola color pencil
  • Doesn't work well in the waterline it transfer to the lower lash line
  • Slightly drying when used to fill in the lips completely
  • Needs to be sharpened since it is a wooden pencil
  • Milani Cosmetics does not ship international you would have to go through a third party vendor.

Overall Thoughts:

Milani Cosmetics' Color Statement Lipliner in 03 - Nude debuted back in the 2013 for their Spring Collection. There are currently 8 shades available for purchased on the Milani Cosmetics Website. The 03 - Nude is by far my favorite lipliner including both drugstore and high-end brands. This shade  applies extremely smooth and is not waxy. It did not transfer nor collect in my lip lines. To date, I have also tried to use this as an eyeliner and in my waterline. It worked great in my upper and lower lash line but was a disaster in the waterline due to some color transfer. The color statement lipliner in nude is a very universal flattering shade that works well with most lipstick shades. It is very easy to remove and did not leave a stain. If overdrawing your lips is your style, I highly recommend this line. Now on to the negatives. There is a color pencil smell to the lipliner but you do not notice it after application. It was a bit drying when I used the lipliner to fill in my lips completely and did not use lipstick or lipgloss on top. In my opinion, I hate wooden pencils. I have the worst luck when it comes to sharpening them. I will try to pick up the Milani Cosmetics sharpener that they recommend on their website to see if my luck changes. I am hopeful seeing as Milani has yet to let me down. The nude lipliner wore well throughout dinner and drinks and lasted about 6.5 hours before fading nicely into my natural lip color. Seeing as this brand is extremely affordable, I will be making a trip to my local drug store to pick up more shades to try them out. Which shades have you tried out?

Overall Thoughts:

Milani Cosmetics' Color Statement Lipstick in 40 - Cabaret Blend is definitely true to its name. As soon as I put it on, I felt as I had been frolicking in the wine vineyards sampling the nectar of the gods. This color glided effortlessly with amazing pigmentation. The coverage is buildable. You can start with a sheen coverage and work your way up to an opaque coverage. Cabaret Blend is very moisturizing on the lips and does not settle into any fine lines. It doesn't really dry down but looks very moist. I did not experience any feathering, tackiness, or crumbling. There is a strong watermelon smell. If you are extremely sensitize to smell then I recommend you not to purchase this color. Like most lipsticks, you will have some color transfer and smudging. The only thing that I was like "meh" about is that removing the color was a bit of a nightmare. I did notice there was a slight staining of the lips. Cabaret Blend lasted about 6 hours before I noticed fading. The fading was kind of cool cause it gave that ombre effect from the center out.  All in all I am a huge fan of this shade and can't wait to try out the other ones in the line.

Overall Thoughts:

The Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush collection has nine different shades available on their website. I decided on trying one of their more neutral shades before purchasing all 9 of them. It was like finding my favorite pair of heels. The baked blush in 05 - Luminoso is hands down my favorite drug store blush of all time. Luminoso is exactly what it is named: a luminous peachy pink that gives your cheek this warm sun-kissed glow. Although when you first look at it, you see this glittery shimmer that makes you doubt yourself for a second thinking whelp there go my pores but on the contrary it is very subtle and beautiful on the skin. Even though, Luminoso is a bit gritty in the pan which is due to the baked blush formulation it applies very smoothly and blends like a dream. You can definitely build up this blush but do be careful because it is very pigmented so start with a light hand. To date, I have also used this color as an eyeshadow because you know why not. The blush brush isn't great. It reminds me of what I used to use as a child. In the future, I hope Milani will redo the packaging and get rid of the second compartment where the brush is located making it a bit slimmer which would be great for travel. There is a slight powdery smell in the pan but it is not noticed when applied. I love that these blushes are affordable cause that means I can go forth and collect the other 8 blushes. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Lumioso lasted about 7.5 hours before it started to fade. I will admit this as time progressed the formulation looked more matte. Now on to address the Nars blush Orgasm dupe conspiracy. They are in the same color family but they are not an exact dupe. Like the saying in Thailand goes "Same, same but different". Orgasm is a pinky peach while Luminoso is a peachy pink. Now aren't you glad Crayola gave you red orange and orange red to be your first color mind-blowing lesson. A comparison picture will be posted soon so you can see for yourself.
