Overall Thoughts:

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator currently includes two different shades: Gilded Honey and Ballerina. From what I have researched, this liquid gold highlighter popped up on the scene back in April-May 2015 and was made known by the Artist/Instagramer Amra Olevic (@amrezy). After she posted about this highlighter, Gilded Honey was flying of the shelves and sold out all over the place. I remember making several trips to Ulta for months in search of this baby. At one point, I was told by one of the employees from Ulta that they would no longer be carrying Laura Geller products at all and that day I felt like a tiny piece of me had died. Honestly, I hate ordering makeup online cause I am one of those people that like to touch things and will leave every makeup store looking like I murdered Tinker Bell all over my arms. If you are looking for that coveted J. Lo glowy dewy sun kissed by the gods look, then say no more and run to the store to buy Gilded Honey. I will be right here when you get back. Yes, this product is $26.00 and the packaging looks like it came out of the dollar bin from the drugstore but in the grander scheme of things it is the more affordable highlighter option on the market in the high-end brand spectrum. The texture is not a powder or a cream but does have a sheen smooth texture that blends flawlessly on the skin without accentuating the pores. I know that in the pan this looks like  a glittery mess waiting to happen but on the contrary it has just the right amount of glisten to capture the sunlight. You can achieve different coverages depending on the method of application you choose. If you want a more sheerer application, then you should use a feather fan brush. For a more opaque coverage, you can use a small domed brush or even your finger. If you want that "WAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM" look, then I recommend either wetting the brush with some MAC Cosmetics Fix Plus or even using a cream highlighter as a base underneath. I will definitely be repurchasing Gilded Honey probably the next time I see since it is a hard item to track down in stores. I also purchased Ballerina and will be doing a review on it as well.

A slight bit of color transfer when drinking so I suggest using a straw. Since this color is in the same family range as your natural lip color, even if there is some color transfer it'll still have a sheen of color on. Smells and taste like the old middle school flavored chapsticks with a trace of perfume Slight trace of a stain when removed There is some smudging if anything comes into deep pressure contact with this formulation seeing as it truly doesn't completely dry.

Overall Thoughts:

Milani Cosmetics' Color Statement Lipsticks currently includes 32 different shades. The Color Statement Lipstick in the shade 46 - Power Pink was added to the collection back on January 2015. This color definitely embraces its name. It is a bold hot pink with purplish undertones that screams power. The satin sheen finish formula is very moisturizing and creamy that will not dry your lips out. The lipstick formula is infused with both Vitamin A and C which nourishes and leaves the lips feeling hydrated with a flawless smooth application. Due to the finish, you may need to apply a few layers to get that powerful bold color but all in all there is great pigmentation that is true to color shade. There is no feathering or bleeding of this color but there is a slight transferring upon drinking or kissing. You will also notice a slight smudging if come into contact with any deep pressure. Upon removal of Power Pink, I did notice a bit of a stain on the lips but does come off with a deeper cleaning. The only thing that bothers me is the smell and taste. It reminds me of those cheap Dr. Pepper chapsticks from my middle school days. I am also that girl that cannot stomach the taste of Dr. Pepper so I am probably a bit bias. I love the affordable price with amazing quality in such a xuxi golden packaging. I will definitely be repurchasing this shade in the future as well as hunting down the other colors from this collection.

Disclaimer: If you don't shut the jar tightly, the shadow will eventually start to dry out.  It is more a metallic finish than a pearlized finish. So if you aren't in for an intense pigmentation and are looking for a softer look, then we can't be friends. Just kidding, Applies better with a finger than a brush. We know that some people get grossed out by that but trust me it will help perfect a smoother look.

Overall Thoughts:

Colourpop Cosmetics originally released KathleenLights back in April 2015 as part of the "Where the Light is" set. It was later released in December 2015 as a single super shock shadow. Youtuber and fellow Miamian, Kathleen Lights described that when she was creating this shadow she wanted something similar to MAC Cosmetics Amber Lights. As soon as we swatched KathleenLights, we definitely knew why this shade was included in the Where the Light is set cause boy oh boy does this baby shine bright. It is a very intensely pigmented metallic golden copper bronze guaranteed to lighten any eye look. This super shock shadow can be used to go from day time to night time in the snap of a finger. KathleenLights is very blendable and buildable that is easy to apply. I do recommend that for a smoother application you use your finger to apply the shadow to set it in and give a more intense look. Although it is described as having a pearlized finish, I feel this shadow is way more metallic which I absolutely love. I definitely recommend snagging this color it is a must have for the spring/summer season. (Although, I will secretly be using this all year round). Overall Thoughts:

Colourpop Cosmetics released a new Super Shock Shadow back in December 2015 called Puppy Love. All proceeds will be donated to Best Friends Animal Society and their NKLA effort to Save Them All. Between the two of us, we are the proud mothers of three dogs. So this cause holds dear to our hearts. Not only is this for a great cause but the color is truly gorgeous. The color is very true to pan. I have seen a few posts that state that this color doesn't blend well or there is no duo chrome effect seen but I did not encounter either of these issues. To date, I have used this color as an eyeshadow, a cheek highlighter, a brow bone highlighter, and an inner tear duct highlight. For application, I have used my finger as well as a synthetic eyeshadow brush and the application was easy. I love that for $5.00 I am getting a lot of product that has a multipurpose use. The only con I have is that if you don't keep the eyeshadow jars tightly shut, the shadows tend to dry out but then again that can be seen with any cream formulation. If you order from Colourpop Cosmetics and are a first timer, please make sure you subscribe to get a $5 off your first purchase. Yes, these products are what most claim to call "cheap" but by no means would I describe the quality as that. Milani Cosmetics describes the Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in 61 - Matte Naked as a "Matte Medium Nude". It is a medium nude with a mauve pink undertone in a matte finish.

Cruelty Free Vegan Cute packaging It feels lightweight on your lips so you can definitely use this on a daily basis. It dries matte but it does not dry out your lips. The formula provides a smooth moisture which I feel is due to the grape seed extract. Great pigmentation for a natural looking nude. Affordable  Amazing smell. It is a mixture of vanilla and cake batter. Long wearing - about 4 and half hours which included drinking and eating

If you suffer from dry, cracked lips, this lipstick could settle into the fine lines. I recommend definitely exfoliating and applying a bit of lip balm to help moisturize your lips beforehand. A slight bit of color transfer when drinking so I suggest using a straw. Since this color is in the same family range as your natural lip color, even if there is some color transfer it'll still have a sheen of color on.

Overall Thoughts:

Milani Cosmetics does it again. We hate to refer to anything done by Milani as a drugstore brand because the quality of the formula and pigmentation is outstanding. So we have opted out of calling it "drugstore brand" cause that tends to resonate as cheap and have decided to go with affordable. There are currently 16 shades of the Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks available for purchase on the Milani Cosmetics website. Matte Naked made its debut around January 2015. I applied Matte Naked this morning on my way to work and while I was driving I realized I forgotten my coffee. Let me tell you something, if I have not had my coffee just don't talk to me cause you'll probably be eaten alive.  Luckily, I found a drive-thru Starbucks and proceeded to order the mammoth size. As I took some sips, I noticed a little bit of a color transfer but just chalked it off to eh I bought this at CVS what can you really expect. When I got to my final destination, I went to reapply and noticed that wasn't necessary at all. This color last about 4.5 hours on me before I deemed a reapplication was a must. Throughout the day, I never had that dried out feeling of wearing a matte lipstick. It was like a second skin. I would recommend using these for an everyday basis. Hours after taking this lipstick off, I have noticed that my lips still feel moisturized and smooth. The only con I would say which can vary from person to person is if you do suffer from cracked lips this formulation will settle in the lines. It is not a horrible look but you won't get that smooth look that everyone desires. A remedy to this is to exfoliate your lips as well as moisturize with a balm either the night before or right before application. I did not experience any feathering with this shade so I didn't use a lipliner. The gold packing is adorable and durable. I had a horrible gasping experience when my adorable puppy decided to be possessed by the devil himself and knock it off the table and it hit the floor. Thankfully for his sake, the tube and lipstick are in one piece. If you are someone that is sensitive to smells and likes to know the smell situation before purchasing something, don't fret it smells like vanilla and cake batter decided to have a baby. Sorry, I may be a little hungry. So all in all, we will be repurchasing this in the future as well as trying to collect all the other shades for review. Please note that when it comes to lipstick colors the shade will always be different from person to person so don't get frustrated when you see a color in a picture or on your friend and it doesn't look the same on you. Trust me when I say this, there is a shade out there that is your soulmate. Happy Hunting!
